Bugiri Young Rice Farmers cooperative society Ltd (BUFACO ) is a Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd Located in Buwuni Town council Bugiri district. (BUFACO) started as Bugiri Youth Network, an umbrella organization of youth groups involved in rice farming. After four years, it was registered as a farmer’s cooperative society in 2020 with the registrar of cooperatives. Its purpose is to increase young farmers’ incomes in Bugiri District, Uganda through collective rice farming and marketing activities. BUFACO is a membership organization where members pay a fee to join, and each member must own shares in the cooperative

The cooperative extends credit to its members in the form of inputs. This includes seeds, fertilizers and tractor services ,
The input support helps members grow rice that is sold to the cooperative, which then bulks the rice and sells to the market. The cooperative has received grant to increase value to the farmers produce and better returns on investment, culminating in better incomes and livelihoods.,
